Oxfordshire BiotechNet was originally the Oxford-based biotechnology incubator, providing space, facilities, business services and mentoring for start-up companies in the Oxford BioBusiness Centre.
BiotechNet was very successful, housing and mentoring over 45 companies; many graduated to bigger and better things, often with significant venture capital and investment. It was the only specialist biotechnology incubator in the county, had international recognition and renown and was often quoted as the model to emulate. In 2003, BiotechNet won the global award ‘Best Science Based Incubator’. Read the report (2001): The Pioneering Bioscience Incubator by Paul Bradstock, OBE, Former Director of The Oxford Trust and Oxfordshire BiotechNet Ltd.
Unfortunately, circumstances beyond the company’s control forced the closure of the Centre in Autumn 2005. However, the name Oxfordshire BiotechNet is synonymous with industry knowledge, quality and professionalism and in early 2007 was relaunched as an expert services consultancy to the bioscience industry.
